WPP buys Twist Image

WPP of London has acquired Canadian digital marketing agency Twist Image. The company was founded in 2000 and employs approximately 100 people at its offices in Toronto and Montreal. Twist Image specializes in social media activities, mobile marketing, interactive experiences and content creation. Its clients include TD Bank, Walmart Canada and Dairy Farmers of Canada.

The agency will continue to be headed by its four partners, comprising chief executive officer Mark Goodman, president Mitch Joel, chief product officer Mickael Kanfi and chief operating officer Aubrey Rosenhek. The firm's existing senior management will also remain in place.

"We are committed to preserving Twist Image's entrepreneurial culture and maintaining focus on serving our clients," said Joel. "WPP enables us to bring the latest in data and analytics, critical digital media strategies and strategic partnerships with the world's best technology companies to extend our service offering in a unique way. Digital marketing is no longer an afterthought in the marketing mix. We are increasingly assuming a lead role within our client's overall marketing, and are confident that being a part of WPP will only strengthen our position."
