Rogers Communications has signed a 13-year sponsorship agreement with Rexall Sports and NHL hockey team the Edmonton Oilers that will give the company naming rights to the team's new arena. The venue, which will open for the 2016 NHL season, will be called Rogers Place. The agreement also includes brand and advertising placements, arena signage and a presence on the concourse, rink and ice. Rogers is also the presenting sponsor of Oilers television broadcasts, the team's website and its mobile application.

"Today's announcement builds on our long-term commitment to the Edmonton Oilers, its hockey fans and our investment in Alberta," said John Boynton, chief marketing officer at Rogers Communications. We look forward to bringing passionate fans a connected game experience powered by the country's fastest LTE network."
