Sponsorship roundup

Loyalty program company Aimia has signed an agreement with the Art Gallery of Ontario to become the title sponsor of the Grange Prize for contemporary photography. The annual award will now be known as the Aimia-AGO Photography Prize. The previous sponsor of the prize was Aimia subsidiary Aeroplan. As part of the rebranding, the prize will now expand to award $85,000 in scholarships per year to winners, as well as institute a new international nomination process. "The prize will honour the core mission of the original Grange Prize, which is to engage the public in a dialogue about contemporary photography by connecting people with extraordinary Canadian and international talent, allowing the public to choose the winner," said Matthew Teitelbaum, director and CEO of the Art Gallery of Ontario. "The prize will also continue to foster the growth of photography in Canada by providing all four shortlisted artists fully-funded residencies and exhibition programs."
