By Adnews Staff
Toys R Us Canada has begun a search for a child to take on the position of chief play officer. Children and parents can apply online until July 6 at <http://www.toysrus.ca/cposearch> by submitting a video explaining why they should get the job. The videos will be evaluated for originality, creativity and enthusiasm. Ten finalists will receive a trip to Toronto for in-person interviews and auditions. The winner will receive a one-year contract with the company. The chief play officer will participate in toy training sessions with manufacturers, receive newly-released toys to test, engage in social media activities and participate in special events and television appearances as a company spokesperson. "For our newest CPO we're looking for a dynamic child who is enthusiastic about toys and has a vivid imagination," said Liz MacDonald, vice-president of marketing and store planning at Toys R Us Canada. "Through this nationwide search, we're excited to see what our country's talented youth have to offer. We created the CPO role because it is important to us to provide honest opinions, education and advice on what games and toys children will love, and who better to share those insights than a child?"
