Sun Life Financial has has signed an agreement with the Canadian Football League and the Canadian Football League Players' Association to offer financial planning and career seminars to its players. The deal is in addition to Sun Life's current sponsorship of the CFL. According to the organization, this is the first time the association has retained a financial services organization to help prepare players for their post-football careers. In addition to financial planning seminars, Sun Life will conduct seminars on the possibility of retired players becoming Sun Life advisors. "CFL athletes share the same concerns as other Canadians when it comes to saving money and planning for their retirement," said Mary De Paoli, executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at Sun Life Financial. "We're excited to expand our relationship with the CFL to include the CFLPA so we can offer tailored financial guidance to their players."
