SCOTIABANK GOES BACK TO SCHOOL

Scotiabank will be giving away free scheduling/budgeting software and six IBM 365E laptop computers in a nationwide back-to-school promotion that begins later this month. The annual on-campus visit, now in its fifth year, will come to 130 Canadian universities, colleges and CEGEPs this fall. The draw for the computers will take place on Oct. 11, and software valued at $50 will be given out to students who apply for a Scotiabank Classic VISA card, a Scotia Student Loan or the Student Banking Advantage Plan. Advertising will take the form of a booklet entitled Banking 101 - A Student's Guide to Managing Money, available at all Scotiabank branches and their on-campus booths. It was designed by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto. Student unions were also consulted, Aisha Umar, Scotiabank's senior product manager, student loans, told Adnews yesterday. The program will run until mid-October.
