SEGA LAUNCHES NEW GAME
By Adnews Staff
Richmond Hill, Ont.-based Sega of Canada introduced its popular 3-D flight-action video game "NiGHTS" to the Canadian market Aug. 20. Currently topping game charts in Japan, NiGHTS features high-speed 3-D flight, real-time reflective imagery, 360-degree movement and shifting gravitational effects. The launch is being supported by the largest marketing campaign yet for a Sega Saturn game, including a multi-million dollar North American TV campaign that features the hallmark "Sega Scream". Sega spokesperson Deborah Wardrope told Adnews yesterday that the TV spots started this week and will run until September. Print ads have been running since July and will continue until next month, she added. Media Experts of Montreal bought media for Sega, while Ingalls Moranville Advertising of San Fransisco created the ads.
