Microsoft Canada begins Browse With Confidence campaign

Microsoft Canada has begun an online campaign intended to raise awareness of online threats that put personal and financial information at risk. The campaign focuses on a website at <http://www.browsewithconfidence.ca>. The site provides information about the company's Internet Explorer 8 web browsers and its security features. "Canadians are among the most connected people around the world," said Eric Gales, president of Microsoft Canada. "We are banking, shopping, connecting and learning online. We want to make sure Canadians are also thinking about the safety of their personal information by helping them browse with confidence." In addition, each time a visitor recommends the site to someone else via Facebook, Microsoft will donate two dollars to Canadian charity Kids Internet Safety Alliance. The concept and website were developed by Wunderman and Blast Radius. The 10-week initiative will be supported by a web banner campaign as well as social media activities and public relations conducted by High Road Communications.
