JAW Advertising opens in Toronto

A new agency called JAW Advertising has launched in Toronto. The firm was previously known as Ryan Edwards until it was acquired by Dave Jones and Doug Walker last year. The agency offers services including advertising development, digital and social media marketing, web and mobile development, search engine marketing, media planning and buying, video content production, event management and public relations. The agency's clients include the Ontario Real Estate Association, The Chang School at Ryerson University, Grant Thornton, Vividata and the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Jones was most recently head of social media agency Social Labs. Prior to that, he was vice-president of social media strategy roles at Critical Mass, Blast Radius and BBDO Proximity, as well as vice-president at Hill & Knowlton and Thornley Fallis. Walker was most recently head of digital strategy agency Webwalker. Prior to that, he was managing director at Trigger and director of strategy at Social Media Group.

"Unnecessary chaos and complexity surrounds advertising and this can be a barrier for clients," said Jones. "We've built our careers helping clients avoid the chaos. Our clients have a problem today and need it solved by tomorrow. We give them the ideas that deliver results. It's that simple. Our team is equipped to learn the skills or find the experts that best serve an idea that solves our client’s problem. To get there, we apply fundamental principles to every project. Creative should be flexible, budget is paramount, deadlines are sacred and mass media is optional."
