FORMER BCP CHIEF RELAUNCHES AGENCY

Former BCP Toronto CEO Ron Telpner has broken away from the agency and relaunched The Brainstorm Group. Brainstorm originally began operating in 1993 with Telpner and Marlene Hore. The agency was merged with BCP in April 1994, giving BCP ownership of the agency. Telpner has now bought the agency back, and brought the clients he had before the merger with him, including Calvin Klein and Jean Machine. Telpner has also worked at McKim Communications of Winnipeg as chairman and CEO, and at McKim Baker Lovick BBDO as executive vice-president. Bob Froese has joined Brainstorm as strategy executive vice-president. Most recently he was account director at BCP. He has also worked at McKim as client services director and vice-president. Dorothy McMillan has moved from McKim, where she was creative director, to the same position at Brainstorm. Rosita Thomas is at Brainstorm as special projects director. Previously she was administrative assistant at BCP. She has also worked at Young & Rubicam in London and Toronto. Brainstorm's client list includes: The Toronto Stock Exchange, Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Canadian Apparel Federation, Sunrise Records, Custom Leather, Silver Jeans International and Pan American Games Society.
