CT INSURANCE ADVERTISING UP IN THE AIR
By Adnews Staff
Canada Trust Co. of London, Ont. is still deciding how it will handle advertising for its CT Insurance unit, sales vice-president Doug Paul told Adnews yesterday. The division will sell life, property and casualty insurance in Ontario beginning next year, and will eventually roll the products out across the country. The company will decide early next year if it will hire a new agency or use one of Canada Trust's roster agencies. Canada Trust is also still determining how it will sell the insurance. Currently it is looking at telemarketing, direct mail and direct sales. Federal laws prohibit the company from selling insurance through its bank branches. Canada Trust's roster agencies are Mullen Advertising of Wenham, Massachusetts and Cormark Communications of London, Ont., as well as McDonnell Haynes, Doner Schur Peppler and Wellington West, all of Toronto.
