ISTAR TO INTRODUCE COMMERCE SOFTWARE

Ottawa-based iSTAR internet will launch software across Canada by the end of the year that will allow consumers to securely buy items over the Internet. Called iCommerce, the software will include products and services for consumer and merchant authentication, secure transaction processing including payment authorization and automatic calculation of international taxes and shipping charges. In addition, delivery of the goods will be processed through North American and international shipping and courier companies. The software will also provide Internet transaction statements and provide merchants with customer tracking tools for analyzing consumer buying trends. Next year iSTAR will offer additional secure transaction capabilities, such as Electronic Data Interchange and digital signature validation services.
