GCI Canada to become part of Hill & Knowlton

GCI Canada will become part of the Hill & Knowlton network of public relations agencies. According to the company, GCI will remain and autonomous agency with independent clients and its own premises, reporting to Hill & Knowlton Canada for financial purposes. Both agencies are owned by WPP. "This relationship should provide both agencies with the ability to provide greater choice to prospective clients and to further professional opportunities in Canada and abroad for consulting professionals," said Mike Coates, president and CEO of Hill & Knowlton Canada. In July 2008, WPP announced that GCI Group and Cohn & Wolfe would be merged everywhere in the world except Canada.
