Sponsorship roundup

Toronto-based Scotiabank has signed a sponsorship agreement with Cricket Canada to become the officials bank of cricket in Canada for the next three years. Scotiabank is now the exclusive sponsor of the organization in the financial services sector. The agreement also includes sponsorship of the Canada's national men's and women's cricket teams, as well as naming rights to the National Cricket Championships, which will take place in King City, ON in May, and the Under-19 Championship later this year. The bank will also participate in a new program intended to introduce cricket to children and youths. "The popularity of cricket in the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Guyana and the West Indies has carried over into several of Canada's multicultural communities," said Rania Llewellyn, vice-president of multicultural banking at Scotiabank. "We look forward to working with Cricket Canada to enhance the sport's appeal across the country at both the professional and community levels." Cricket Canada is the national regulatory body for the sport in this country.
