A program called Making the Connection has begun a promotion in association with the Canadian Football League intended to raise awareness of cholesterol and cardiovascular health.Making the Connection is a joint venture of the Canadian Lipid Nurse Network, the Canadian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Diabetes Québec, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Pfizer Canada. During the initiative, football fans will be encouraged to monitor their cholesterol and cardiovascular health at <http://www.cfl.ca/makingtheconnection>. The promotion also includes a contest, the winner of which will get the opportunity to train with a CFL player from their local market. The program is being promoted with commercials on TSN that will air through the football season. "Our relationship with the Making the Connection Partnership is entering its fifth year and we enjoy the annual challenge of helping to inform our fans about cholesterol management in an engaging manner," said Gavin Roth, senior director of partnerships at the CFL. "What's unique about this year's program is that it provides fans with the opportunity to take action alongside their favourite players."
