Sponsorship roundup

Ricoh Canada of Toronto has signed an agreement with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to be the event’s exclusive document solutions sponsor. As part of the deal, Ricoh will supply fax machines and other document management equipment to the organizing committee prior to the games and in the media centres during the games. “The media are, of course, key consumers of information, and delivering a solution that enables them to do their jobs effectively is a major part of what we will consider a successful deployment,” said Martin Brodigan, president and CEO of Ricoh Canada. The six-year agreement includes sponsorship rights for the 2010 Winter Games and for the Canadian teams at the Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Laurentian Bank of Canada has returned as the presenting sponsor of the Montreal International Auto for the third year. “Year after year, the Montreal International Auto Show sets the stage for numerous unveilings,” said Stéphane Gagnon, vice-president of marketing at Laurentian. “It is thus an opportunity to attend premieres, discover prototypes and see concept cars. Besides being a major attraction for car enthusiasts, the event is also a perfect occasion for people to compare different car models for future purchase.” The show will take place from Jan. 19 to Jan. 28.
