Canadian Tourism Commission releases promotional video

The Canadian Tourism Commission has released a new video called "The Power of Tourism" intended to support members of the tourism industry and educate others about the economic value of the sector. The video, which has been posted online at <http://www.corporate.canada.travel>, touches recent developments such as the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and being granted approved destination status by China. According to the commission, tourism represents two percent of Canada's gross domestic product and 3.8% of employment. "We see this video as a terrific business resource," said Michele McKenzie, president and CEO of the commission. "It demonstrates that by aligning our efforts we can bring great results for Canadians. The potential is tremendous, and we all want to do our best to support tourism in Canada."
