Canadian Tourism Commission breaks European campaigns

The Canadian Tourism Commission has begun a series of spring advertising campaigns in Europe. Campaigns are underway in Germany and the United Kingdom, with a campaign set to break in France later this month. All the initiatives will run until April 30. The creative makes use of images of Canadian icons and landscapes such as Niagara Falls, the Rocky Mountains, the CN Tower and the Arctic. The initiative includes print and online advertising, as well as social media activities. "This campaign carries on the phenomenal momentum generated by the 'Canada Shared by Canadians' video that had such an impact this past fall in our core markets, especially in cinemas," said Rupert Peters, the commission's regional managing director of core markets. "Now we have successfully differentiated ourselves from our international competitors, we're looking to convert all that pent-up interest into bookings for Canada." The commission is conducting this initiative in association with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, the Atlantic Canada Tourism Partnership, Travel Alberta, Tourism British Columbia, Tourism New Brunswick, Tourisme Québec, Air Canada and KLM.
