Globe and Mail conducts Podium Picks contest

The Globe and Mail will begin a contest called "Podium Picks" today, the winner of which will receive a trip for two to the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Readers enter by visiting <http://www.globesports.com/podiumpicks> and predicting where Canadian athletes will place in each of the daily events at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Each correct predictions earns the entrant a ballot for the winning draw. The contest will run until Aug. 23. "As the official national newspaper of the Canadian Olympic Team, we're delighted to offer this contest," said Phillip Crawley, publisher and CEO of the Globe. "This is a great way for all Canadians to become engaged in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and support Team Canada in Beijing."
