Random House promotes new book with subway videos

Random House of Canada has begun an out-of-home promotion in support of upcoming book The Killing Circle by Andrew Pyper. The campaign will run on video monitors operated by Onestop Media Group in Toronto subway stations. It consists of three one-minute videos that will run from Aug. 5 to 15. The videos reference various parts of the book and encourage viewers to visit the company website to enter a draw for a copy. The videos were created by Leslie Chan of the organization Art for Commuters. "In a world where it has become almost impossible to get a video to the surface of online properties such as YouTube, Random House of Canada is always looking for innovative and measurable ways to get more eyeballs on its books," said Lisa Charters, director of online sales and marketing at Random House. "Reading and riding the TTC go hand and hand. Combined with the fact that Andrew Pyper is a Toronto author and the setting of his new book is Toronto makes this a perfect environment and medium for the launch of the book."
