Pattison Onestop hosts underground photography exhibit

Pattison Onestop of Toronto is hosting a photography exhibit called "Contacting Toronto: Under this Ground" on its inventory of advertising displays in Toronto's subway stations. The initiative, which will run through May, examines the city's underground waterways and sewer tunnels. Forty-five posters in the St. Patrick station will display the sewer photography of Michael Cook. In addition, stop-motion animated shorts by Andrew Emond about three Toronto tunnels will run at 10-minute intervals on all of the company's subway platform screens. Dedicated screens will display the videos in the Bloor, St. Andrew and Dundas stations for the first week of the program. The exhibit is part of the annual Scotiabank Contact photography festival. "Toronto's subway platform screens and posters are the perfect location for this project, allowing viewers to reflect on a layer of the city to which we are all connected, yet rarely have the opportunity to see," said Sharon Switzer, director of Pattison Onestop's Art for Commuters program.
