Toronto-based Scotiabank has signed-on as the title sponsor of the Contact Photography Festival. The event will now be known as the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival. The event will also introduce a new award in 2011 called the Scotiabank Photography Award, the winner of which which receive $50,000, a book publishing contract with photographic art publisher Steidl and an exhibition at the next year's festival. The sponsorship also includes an online contest aimed at the general public and located at <http://www.scotiabankcontactphoto.com>. "This new partnership with Scotiabank represents a massive step forward for Contact," said Darcy Killeen, executive director of the festival. "Scotiabank has demonstrated their leadership in Canadian photographic arts, and through this partnership we will be able to support galleries, museums and all other venues in Toronto and across Canada in their efforts to attract the public to view the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival."

Automobile service centre chain Mr. Lube Canada has become a sponsor of the Zajac Ranch for Children and the Zajac Foundation. The organization works to offer a summer camp experience in Mission, BC to children with life-threatening illnesses or chronic disabilities. The company has donated $25,000 to Zajac and will host a Mr. Lube week at the camp. Mr. Lube will also raise funds for the camp through its annual Oil Drop Campaign. "We wanted to do something for children who suffer from medical conditions and who are unable to attend camp because they are either too ill or unable to afford it," said Stuart Suls, president and COO of Mr. Lube Canada. "Fortunately we are supported in this effort by our customers and their amazing generosity."
