The Toronto-based Marketing Hall of Legends will add seven new inductees for 2007, selected for their “exceptional contributions within the Canadian marketing industry.” Ted Rogers, president and CEO of Rogers Communications will be inducted in the Visionaries category, which recognizes those who have created enduring brands. George Cohon, founder of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada and McDonald’s Russia, will join the list as a Builder; one who has enhanced an existing brand. Andrew Brandt, the former chair and CEO of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, will also be inducted in this category. Terry O’Malley, former president and creative director of Vicker & Benson, and the late Jacques Bouchard, founder of Publicité BCP, will be inducted as Enablers; those who have a history of brand building. Rupert Brendon, president and CEO of the Institute of Communications and Advertising, will join the hall in the Mentors category, which recognizes those who have given others the ability to succeed in the Canadian marketing industry. These six people will be officially added to the Marketing Hall of Legends on Feb. 1, 2007.
