General Motors of Canada has acquired the naming rights to a new sports and entertainment venue in Oshawa, ON. During the 10-year term of the agreement, the facility will be called the General Motors Centre. The venue, which will open on Nov. 3, is managed by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment of Toronto. It includes two ice rinks, a restaurant, corporate boxes, a retail store and an outdoor plaza containing a fountain that will become an ice surface in the winter.
