Passage: Syd Kessler

Syd Kessler, co-founder of NABS, recently passed away at the age of 74. Kessler began his career as a writer for Chuck Blore Creative Services. From 1974 to 1978, he was president of his own firm, Kessler Productions, later Kessler Music. In 1988, after a series of mergers, brewer John Labatt began a joint venture with Kessler Music called Supercorp, which specialized in commercial production. In 1994, he launched a new marketing company called The Kessler Group. In 1997, Kessler became co-director of the electronic commerce practice of KPMG. He also co-founded numerous companies, including Scientific Intelligence, Rocket Boys, Wunderkind, Ultimate Social Directories, L'Institut Idée, Kessler/White 3D and Niche. He also published a series of books. Kessler was inducted into Canada’s Marketing Hall of Legends in 2014.
