Family Channel readies campaign for fall

Astral Media is preparing a promotion in support of the fall programming lineup on Family Channel. The initiative, called “Get Schooled,” will run for four weeks beginning Sept. 8. Each Friday, a promotional ad on the channel will assign viewers a homework project. Participants will have one week to complete the project and submit their work through the Family.ca website. Those who do so will be entered into a draw. The grand prize in the draw is a “substitute teacher” who will entertain at the winner’s school. Some entries will also be posted to the website to be graded by the public. Those who receive the highest grade each week will receive secondary prizes. Other promotional for the channel’s Friday evening programming will include an online preview of the season premiere of the show Life With Derek. Viewers who register for the preview will be entered into a draw for a walk-on role in the program. The Get Schooled campaign will also include print ads in The Magazine, Bratz, Famous Kids, Owl and Kidsworld.
