ROGERS DECISION IMMINENT

Four unnamed agencies are vying for the $35-million Rogers Communications consolidated media buying account, and a decision could be made by the end of the week. Presentations are being made on Thursday and "we should be in a position to move on this by the end of the week," Rogers Multi-Media president John Tory told Adnews yesterday. The company started with a list of 12 shops. Incumbent agencies for Rogers are Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising; Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell; Enterprise Advertising; Prism Communications and J. Walter Thompson, all of Toronto. As well, Ottawa-based Engelberts and Woyzburg and Type Plus of Edmonton do media buying.
