NEW CHEERIOS IN U.S.
By Adnews Staff
U.S.-based General Mills is introducing another version of its popular Cheerios brand to the American market, but Canadians won't be able to taste the treat. "We have no immediate plans to launch the product here," marketing senior vice-president Christie Strauss told Adnews this week. Called Frosted Cheerios, it is the fourth variation of the brand. The others are Honey Nut, Apple Cinnamon and Multi Grain. TV advertising targeting six to 18-year-olds will begin when the cereal hits the market. The ads will resemble snack-food advertising: someone opens the box and a party starts. They are being created by New York-based Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of North America.
