General Mills begins Pizza Pops campaign

General Mills has begun a new advertising campaign for its Pizza Pops frozen food line called “What a Time to Be Weird.” Developed by Cossette of Toronto, the campaign consists of four online videos featuring “real life weirdos.” The videos feature the participation of Canadians with unusual pastimes such as cosplaying, live action role playing, puppetry and competitive eating, combined with animation. The campaign will run until November.

“It’s definitely a good time to be weird in our culture right now and we decided to celebrate that,” said Jacob Greer, creative director at Cossette. “By choosing to work with people who are truly passionate about their ‘weird’ hobbies rather than looking at influencers or using actors, we are connecting in a personal way with our fans and inviting them to celebrate with us.”
