Alert Ready begins advertising campaign

National emergency alert system Alert Ready has begun a new marketing campaign. The effort, developed by Tag of Toronto, is intended to inform consumers receiving emergency alerts through compatible wireless devices; a program which will launch on April 6. The campaign encourages consumers to view and respond to these alerts, which will concern potentially life-threatening events. It also encourages consumers to visit <> to check for device compatibility. The campaign consists of television, online video, radio and digital advertising. Alert Ready is operated by Pelmorex.

"Smartphones play an integral part of our daily lives, but now, with emergency alerts being delivered straight to your mobile device, they quite literally have the power to help save lives, without having to press a single button," said Ian Schwey, executive creative director at Tag. "The creative execution highlights this sentiment, featuring animations of a mobile device forming into traditional lifesaving objects, a life preserver and fire extinguisher, to demonstrate the parallels of its newest capability."
