Rogers Radio forms content deal with Shazam

Rogers Radio has formed a content agreement with music identification mobile application Shazam. Through this agreement, which was arranged by Tapped Mobile, a number of Rogers stations will air a branded daily segment called "The Shazam at Seven Countdown," which will highlight the top seven songs of the day in each local market according to data gathered through the Shazam application. Participating stations will include Kiss 92.5 in Toronto, 91.7 The Bounce in Edmonton, and Kiss Radio in Vancouver. The segment will also be available on each station's website, social media pages and mobile applications.

"We're always striving to deliver innovative and engaging experiences and opportunities for both our listeners and our clients, and this partnership with Shazam checks every box," said Julie Adam, senior vice-president at Rogers Radio. "I use my Shazam app all the time. It's a complete game changer for discovering the songs we love, and allows us to really cater to the different tastes of our local listeners to bring them even more of the music they want in real time. There are definitely more exciting announcements to come as this partnership continues to evolve."

Juice drink chain Booster Juice has signed-on as the initial exclusive presenting sponsor of the segment. The sponsorship includes in-show brand integration, on-air mentions, radio ads and data analytics.
