Rogers Sports & Media begins Speak Up campaign

Rogers Sports & Media of Toronto has begun a campaign called “Speak Up Against Racism.” The initiative includes the reopening of Speakers Corner, a video recording booth attached to the exterior of the Citytv building in Toronto. The campaign encourages consumers to use the booth as well as social media to submit messages condemning racism and social injustice. The videos will be displayed on the Speakers Corner webpage at <https://toronto.citynews.ca/speakers-corner>, with some videos aired on Citytv, CityNews, Omni Television, Sportsnet, Rogers TV and various Rogers Radio stations nationally. Rogers Sports & Media is a subsidiary of Rogers Communications.

“With racial inequality, hatred and discrimination still so prevalent, we as a society must do better,” said Jordan Banks, President, Rogers Sports & Media. “We have a unique responsibility to engage Canadians in conversation through our media assets and help be a catalyst for positive change by amplifying voices that have not always been heard with equal measure. Canada has systemic inequalities, and we must firmly embrace inclusion and equality as it will lead to a stronger and more united society for future generations.”
