Rogers to buy Medicine Hat FM station

Rogers Media has signed an agreement with Clear Sky Radio to acquire FM radio station 102.1 CJCY in Medicine Hat, AB. The station's programming consists of classic pop music. The transaction is expected to close in several months, subject to CRTC approval. Rogers Radio already operates a station in Medicine Hat called 105.3 Rock.
"CJCY has earned a strong local listener base in the community, and we're excited to have the opportunity to build on the station's legacy and continue its success," said Julie Adam, senior vice-president at Rogers Radio. "Complementing our existing local station, this acquisition allows us to double down on our promise to offer high quality local programming across multiple platforms to listeners and better serve the community."
