ROM PROMOTES BEARS IN LATEST CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Ranscombe & Co. of Toronto launched a grizzly campaign late last month for the Royal Ontario Museum. Using posters, billboards, transit and magazines in the Toronto area, the campaign promotes the new bear exhibit at the museum which is running until Jan. 5, 1997. The posters and transit ads feature a growling bear with the headline "Who ate my porridge?" Billboards use the same bear and the headlines, "Share a Kodiak Moment" and "Goes into hibernation January 5th." Banners showing a bear on its hind legs hang outside the ROM, stating "Grizzly details inside." An illustrated bear paw with finger holes will be used as a mailer and giveaway. Ranscombe was doing work for ROM on a project basis until it hired an agency. Bates Canada of Toronto won the account last month.
