PHONE COMPANIES INTRODUCE CHINESE PHONE CARD
By Adnews Staff
Bell Canada in Ontario and BC Tel in B.C. are targeting the Chinese community in those provinces with their new calling card. The card will automatically be issued to Bell and BC Tel Chinese customer households by mid-October. It allows customers to make long distance calls in more than 120 countries and cities, and provides Chinese language print and voice instructions to assist dialing. All the calls are charged to the user's home telephone bill. National print and TV ads began this week to support the launch of the card. It also uses Chinese radio stations in Vancouver. Direct mail will also be used. The campaign was created by LLT Advertising (Canada) of Toronto. PR is being done by Focus Communications of Markham, Ont.
