PUBLICIS HOOKS UP WITH UBI

Publicis*BCP of Montreal was given the UBI account last month. UBI of Montreal is a consortium of companies that will test-market a TV set-top box beginning next year that will offer consumers 160 cable channels, enable them to get information about government and businesses and let them buy items from retail companies using their TV. Companies in the consortium include: Canada Post Corporation, the National Bank of Canada and cable company Videotron. The box will be test-marketed in Jonquiere and Chicoutime, both in Quebec, for three months. It will then roll out to the rest of Quebec. BCP was given the business without a review. It handles advertising for Videotron.
