BUTTER ADS BACK ON THE TUBE
By Adnews Staff
Eight new commercials for butter will be gracing the TV screens of the nation for the next six months, courtesy of the Dairy Farmers of Canada. These are the first TV ads for butter in four years, following-up a long stint of radio advertising. The new campaign, which consists of four English spots and four French spots, broke yesterday and will run through to April, 1997. The aim of the campaign is to reach out to "consumers who now feel that butter, in moderation, can be part of a healthy diet," says Yvan Garceau, director of marketing for DFC, in a release. Each ad focuses on a different food, featuring children age 4-6 who explain how that food is "made for butter." The ads also feature four variations on the theme song "Mellow Yellow", by Donavan. The campaign was created by BCP of Montreal.
