DELOITTE & TOUCH FINDS OUTSIDE PR HELP

Deloitte & Touche of Toronto is planning on more than doubling its advertising and PR spending over the next year, national communications and marketing manager Mike Nethercott told Adnews last week. Because it will be spending more on PR, the management consulting firm has hired Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto to handle the business. The agency was chosen in a competition with one other agency. "We are convinced that Cohn & Wolfe, with its experience in corporate public relations programs, focus on creative solutions and strong North American presence, will help us achieve our goal of being the multifunctional consulting firm corporations think of first when they face business challenges," Nethercott says in a release. Cohn & Wolfe already handles the Deloitte's U.S. PR business. The Canadian account was being handled in-house. Advertising for Deloitte is created by Bates Canada of Toronto. A print and PR campaign will be launched for the company by the end of October.
