GREYHOUND OFFERS PHONECARDS FOR TRAVELLERS
By Adnews Staff
Greyhound Canada Transportation Corp. is now in the phonecard business. The company introduced the Greyhound Canada Phonecard for travellers last week. The prepaid cards can be used to place long-distance calls and are available in denominations of 10, 20 or 40 minutes for $8.50, $15 and $26 respectively. Once the minutes on the card are finished, users can re-load the card using Visa or MasterCard. Calls can be made with the card from the U.S. or Canada to over 200 countries. Advertising will be done on a selective basis, Greyhound director of business development Volker Mendritzki told Adnews yesterday. Any Greyhound agent wishing to promote the card will do so in their area with an agency of their choice, along with Greyhound. These ads usually take the form of local newspaper spots. He added that the cards may be marketed with other Greyhound services as part of a newspaper campaign in major cities in Central and Western Canada. Greyhound uses Vancouver agency Palmer Jarvis Communications.
