CONCERNED CHILDREN'S ADVERTISERS NEW VIGNETTE
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Concerned Children's Advertisers launched a new television vignette this week that will try to get young people to think about all the tough choices they may be facing. Entitled Moe Funky, it will compliment the CCA's other 21 vignettes currently televised throughout Canada, addressing the issues of substance abuse prevention, child abuse prevention and media literacy. The new spot shows a collage of black-and-white images of kids playing games such as spin the bottle and baseball. A youth advises viewers that a young person's upcoming tough choices are not a game and have to be given serious thought. The vignette was created by Toronto's J. Walter Thompson Co. Ltd., along with The Partners Film Company, also of Toronto. Air time was donated by Canada's private broadcasters. The CCA is a consortium of 20 child-centred advertisers, broadcasters and agencies that try to combine the business of marketing to children with the responsibility of caring for them.
