American Express signs marketing agreement with Toronto airport

American Express Canada has signed an advertising, marketing, sponsorship agreement with Toronto Pearson International Airport. The program will include "preferred sponsor status" for the credit card company, as well as various advertising and sponsorship assets. In addition, holders of some types of credit cards will be offered a collection of airport benefits, including access to priority security lanes in Terminals One and Three, valet services, parking discounts and a designated taxi and limousine line. American Express will also sponsor free wireless Internet access throughout the airport. "This is a very exciting partnership and one that goes far beyond traditional advertising," said David Barnes, vice-president of advertising and sponsorships at American Express Canada. "The real focus of our relationship will be on adding services and benefits to improve the travel experience for both our existing cardmembers and other travelers who will be exposed to our brand in a meaningful way and get a taste of the special treatment we are famous for."
