Amex conducts Pinterest campaign

Credit card company American Express has begun a social media campaign on Pinterest. According to the company, the effort is intended to highlight how use of the card “goes beyond a transaction and provides the difference between good and epic experiences.” The campaign is aimed at consumers using Pinterest to plan social occasions such as entertainment and dining. The “Amex Pin Extension” is intended to reach consumers while they are planning, offering a series of image-based suggestions for weekend activities. The quiz is intended to discover what users are planning and how American Express can assist.

“Amex Canada’s ‘Elevated Membership’ campaign showcases the totality of membership with Amex while bringing to life tangible examples of the advantages of being an Amex cardmember,” said Lauren Dineen-Duarte, vice-president of communications at American Express Canada. “From a social perspective, we aim to be innovative with our content and, through collaboration with Pinterest and the first to market Pin Extension, it’s an exciting way for us to shine a spotlight on our dining and entertainment benefits, enabling people to explore and get excited about the possibilities for their upcoming experiences.”
