Dentsu buys Bos

Dentsu Network has acquired Montreal-based advertising agency Bos. The firm will be combined with Dentsu Canada of Toronto and will operate under the name DentsuBos. Dentsu Canada CEO Bob Shropshire will be chairman of the new entity. Michel Ostiguy, president and CEO of Bos, will be CEO of DentsuBos and president of DentsuBos Montreal. Claude Carrier, executive vice-president of Bos, will become president DentsuBos Toronto. Roger Gariepy, also executive vice-president of Bos, will be chief creative officer. "This is a great development for Dentsu in Canada," said Shropshire. "We had been looking long and hard for a partner that would help us become a significant national player by adding a strong Quebec component. We couldn't have dreamt of a better match." Bos's client list includes Ultima Foods, National Bank, Homesense, Canon, Couche-tard, Vincor, St-Hubert and CAMH. No financial details of the deal are available.
