Future Shop readies Exciting Stuff campaign

Electronics retailer Future Shop will begin a new national marketing campaign called "Exciting Stuff" on Aug. 13. The campaign will promote the chain as a "high energy destination" for electronic products. "Our new positioning comes directly from our customers who told us how much excitement and fun they have shopping for electronic products," said Nikki Hellyer, marketing director at Future Shop. "With our great range of products, combined with our high energy stores and knowledgeable staff, it made sense to position Future Shop as the store with a product offering that together represents exciting stuff." The campaign includes a 30-second television commercial that depicts a young man leaving a Future Shop store, causing a series of animated images to be generated across the storefront. This creative theme will also be used in the initiative's in-store materials, online advertising and social media activities. One component of the online campaign is a website at <http://www.projectimgnation.com> at which visitors can contribute to a mural composed of various product images. Other elements include radio ads, 15-second cinema commercials and public relations. The campaign was developed by Cossette of Toronto. The social media work is being handled by Cossette division Rocket XL.
