TWO NEW MACHINES FROM SONY
By Adnews Staff
Sony of Canada is introducing two new video machines to the Canadian market in the fall, called the SVO-1500 and the SVP-1110. Both are designed for video-on-demand, point of purchase and educational and corporate presentations. The SVO 1500 has an inhibit switch to prevent accidental operation. It deactivates all function keys on both the front panel and the remote control. As a tape is loaded or ejected into the machine, a cleaning element automatically passes over the video heads to remove tape residue. The machine also has an auto repeat function so the tape will automatically replay. The SVP-1110 player has a digital auto tracking feature that automatically adjusts its tracking for tapes recorded on other machines. It also has an auto head cleaner, power-on and rewind. Advertising plans have not been scheduled yet for the machines. Sony consumer products avertising done by Toronto-based BBDO Canada. Sony Electronics introduced the machines in the U.S. last month.
