BOOZE COMING TO GROCERY STORES
By Adnews Staff
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario is going to be selling booze in grocery stores soon. It wants to open 1,000-square-foot kiosks which will sell 200 to 500 brands. Regular liquor stores are 3,000 to 10,000 square feet and have up to 1,500 brands. Currently, the board is looking for a test site in downtown Toronto. The LCBO plans to rent space from a retailer and operate independently, with its own staff and cash register.
