Sony holds digital photography contest

Toronto-based Sony of Canada has begun a promotion called the “Alpha Photo Contest.” The contest, which will run from June 6 to July 21, is open to amateur photographers using digital cameras. Entrants must submit photographs depicting the theme of “family fun.” Three winners will receive Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 digital cameras. The contest is being conducted through a website located at <http://www.sonystyle.ca/photocontest>. “The objective of the first annual Alpha Photo Contest is to help Canadian photo enthusiasts rediscover the joy of photography,” said Akehiro Kaiya, general manager of digital imaging products in the Consumer Audio Visual/Information Technology Group at Sony. “The Sony Alpha digital camera system is all about experiencing the pure enjoyment associated with taking a great photograph. Our three winning photographers are going to experience that first-hand because of this contest.”
