Subway conducts contest promotion with Dave Mercer

Sandwich chain Subway has begun a contest promotion in Ontario in association with television fishing personality Dave Mercer, host of the show Facts of Fishing. The contest will run at approximately 1,000 participating restaurants from April 5 to July 4. Customers who purchase a Fresh Value Meal will receive a ballot to enter a draw for a competition fishing boat worth $75,000. Secondary prizes will include fishing rods, Fuji waterproof cameras and packages from Rapala and Berkley. The contest is being promoted with television commercials during Facts of Fishing broadcasts, local radio advertising, print ads in Outdoor Canada and Chill Magazine, as well as online materials at <http://www.factsoffishing.com>. The promotion was developed by Cundari. "We have worked with Dave Mercer on different promotions to great success because of how the Subway experience resonates with his growing hobby angler audience," said Toni Rufo, account supervisor at Cundari. "Fishing enthusiasts started their days at Subway with breakfast and picked up a lunch for their coolers before they headed out on the water, often finishing their day with Subway too."
