Canadian Diabetes Association conducts campaign aimed at young people

The Canadian Diabetes Association is conducting a new campaign to coincide with national Diabetes Awareness Month in November. The campaign, developed by Grey Canada, consists of posters and online ads aimed at Canadians between the ages of 18 and 30. The ads use the copy, "Think diabetes can't affect you because you're young?" The aim of the program is to raise awareness of the symptoms of the disease and counter the preconception that diabetes only affects older people. The ads direct viewers to a website at <http://www.getserious.ca> where they can watch a series of vignettes about diabetes symptoms done in the style of speed-dating videos.
