GREY PICKS UP 3M

Grey Advertising of New York walked away last week with the worldwide corporate and consumer ad account for brands produced by three of Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company's 48 divisions. The agency won in a competition against Leo Burnett Company of Chicago and Bozell Worldwide of Minneapolis. The work was previously handled by 25 agencies, but 3M wants to promote a consistent image around the world. The divisions affected by the review are Home and Commercial Care, Do-It-Yourself and Consumer Stationery. Brands include Scotch-Brite cleaning materials, O-Cel-O sponges, Post-it notes, Scotch tape and Filtrete filters. In Canada. Toronto-based Vickers & Benson Advertising is agency of record for 3M Canada. It will continue to handle advertising for industrial products and others not included in the global account.
